Feeding value of corn stover silage fed to crossbred carabao

The feeding value of corn stover silage to growing crossbred carabaos was determined. Findings showed that addition of a microbial inoculant (Lactobacillus plantarum) had no significant effect on improving the feeding value of both 75 and 105 days after planting (DAP) corn stover silage. The feeding value of corn stover silage as measured by intake of digestible nutrients was higher when fed ad libitum than at restricted feeding (80 percent of ad libitum). Corn silage had no added advantage over that of corn stover silage in growth performance of growing crossbred carabaos
