The comparative efficacy of nine different schedules of five insecticides was tested against the insect-pest complex as well as that of the individual insect-pest of Akbar maize. It was found that the spray-schedule of Karate @ 400 ml ha-1 was the most efficient of them except in the cases of corn borer and armyworm, where the spray schedule of Karate @ 500 ml ha-1 was the most efficient, corn aphids and corn jassids were well controlled by a spray schedule comprising of two consecutive applications of Chamathoate @ 850 ml ha-1 + one application of Karate @ 400 ml ha- 1 and the spray schedule of Furadan @ 20 kg ha-1 , respectively.
