Cumulation of selected elements (Hg, Cd, Pb, Ni, Fe, Cu) in individual plant (stalk, leaves, flowers and seed) in four species of amaranth (Amaranthus cruentus, Amaranthus paniculatus, Amaranthus hypochondriacus, Amaranthus caudatus) was investigated. Toxic elementsHg, Pb, Cd and Cu, were found to cumulate in leaves of amaranth irrespective ofspecies. Chromium was found to cumulate in flowers or seeds, depending on the species. Cumulation of Fe was in leaves or seeds, depending on the species
