The content of the foodstuff and the energetic value of the grass crops

Quality of grass cover on the basis of starch value and new feedstuff evaluation system (on platform ME, NEL, NEV) was evaluated. Starch value of grass cover was 45-48 x 100 percent dry matter, ME 9.5 to 11.0 MJ kg** (-1). Fertilizer doses (120 kg N + 35 kg P + 70 kg K) per ha had no significant effect. Changes of metabolizable energy are significant during vegetation period. The ME value in young cover was 12.5 MJ kg** (-1), in older cover 8.1 MJ kg** (-1). Prediction of grass cover energy utilization in the Lolio-Cynosuretum typicum association was investigated for 3 years, and is supposedly higher in rearing young cattle and in fattening when reaching higher yields
