Evaluation of raspberry [Rubus idaeus] genepool with a view to qualitative fruit properties and possibilities of further processing

The fruit quality of the raspberry genepool in the field collections of the Research Institute of Fruit and Ornamental Woods in Bojnice (Slovakia) was evaluated for chemical composition in the fresh stage and for suitability for further processing. The most valuable cultivars were: Granat, Malling Exploit, Zeva, Bulgarian Rubin, and Ljulin (for cultivars of the remontant type). For canning, the raw material of the highest quality is still the cultivar Bulgarian Rubin. For freezing, the remontant cultivars and the new crosses with the parent cultivar Ljulin in the parent couple proved their suitability
