Using the rape cake in the feeding of laying hens
1996
Horniakova, E. | Sojkova, Z.
The possibility of replacing soybean meal by rape cake with laying hens was investigated. The mixtures were: R1, 18.5 percent-replacement of soybean meal, R2, 55.5 percent-replacement of soybean meal and R3, 100 percent rape cake. Layers of the control group were fed the standard mixture. Content of basic organic and mineral nutrients was balanced. A replacement of soybean meal by rape cake had a positive effect in terms of production and quality characteristics only in the first trial group, i.e. in replacing soybean meal by rape cake up to 18.5 percent (laying performance, amount of produced egg mass per 100 pieces of eggs, average live weight gain, egg weight, shape index of eggs). A decrease of average values of most characteristics observed appeared in further trial groups (R2 and R3)
