The economic weights of economically important parameters of milk efficiency (milk production, fat and protein content) in three domestic breeds of cattle (Slovak Pied-S, Holstein-H, and Pinzgau-P) were determined in 1996, based on revenues and costs for all categories of animals in the production system. We took into consideration the production system of closed herd production model without quotation for milk production. The calculated values of economic weights were in S breed for individual parameters as follows: economic weight of milk 7.21 Skk/kg, economic weight for fat content 15.98 Skk/0.01 %, and 31.40 Skk/0.01 % for protein content. The calculated economic weight for P breed were 6.73 Skk/kg, 13.98 Skk/0.01 %, 27.46 Skk/0.01 %, respectively, and 7.02 Skk/kg, 29.6 Skk/0.01 %, 42.44 Skk/0.01 %, resp., for H breed. The system of milk realization is the decisive factor influencing the values of economic weights; feed prices influence them to a lower degree
