Health and sanitary requirements for production and quality of meal of animal origin
1997
Sokol, J. | Korcek, M. (State Veterinary Administration, Bratislava (Slovak Republic))
In farm animal nutrition, feedstuffs of animal origin play an important role. They are included into feed mixtures for monogastric animals, and are characterized by a high biological protein value, contents of mineral substances and vitamins. The basic condition for their use is wholesomeness. Due to the BSE occurrence in some West European countries the requirements for the operation of rendering plants in which dangerous and special wastes of animal origin are destroyed have become more strict and the examinations of meat-and-bone meal are extended for the presence of Clostridium perfringens
