Protein, lipid and omega-3 HUFA content in rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis during the secondary feeding period (3 and 6 h) on the egg yolk emulsified oil and a commercial emulsified oil (The rotifers were originally fed with Tetraselmis sp.) were investigated. The protein content was lower while the lipid content was higher than those fed with Chlorella sp., control. omega-3 HUFA content in rotifers fed with both kinds of oil was higher than those in control. After 3 and 6 h of feeding with egg yolk emulsified oil, the content of omega-3 HUFA in rotifers was 17.89 and 13.78 % of total fatty acid. Whereas omega-3 HUFA content in rotifers fed with a commercial emulsified oil was 14.61 and 19.34 % of total fatty acid respectively.
