Longterm study on the effective of green manuring and chemical fertilizer (nitrogen) was conducted the past three years on Oxic Paleustults soil group at Khon Kaen site. Six treatments combinations were assigned in R.C.B design as the following treatments, 0-0-0, 0-10-10, 10-10-10, sun hemp +10-10-10, sun hemp +5-10-10 and sun hemp +0-10-10 soil pH was slightly decreased by the treatments after the third year, soil organic matter was also reduced. Soil bulkdensity was benefited by green manuring at subsoil but top soil showed slight tendency. Water retention at pF 1.5 was positively increased in water content by green manure. Sorghum stem weight and grain weight revealed positive benefit when green manure was treated. Fertilizer use efficient was also resulted by nitrogen and green manuring in combination.
