Djorovic, M. (Poljoprivredni fakultet, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
The paper presents the results of quantitative research of demand and consumption patterns of the alcoholic beverages by the categories of consumers in Serbia (Yugoslavia). The total volume, structure, dynamics, elements and trends (in other words - trend models of demand and consumption) of these products have been observed and researched. Projections have been made of the total and market consumption of the alcoholic beverages by the year 2000. The significant differences in trends of consumption of the alcoholic beverages stratified into the different categories have been determined. A large number of factors has been influencing the observed differences and tendencies of patterns of demand and consumption of the alcoholic beverages. Two relatively homogenous groups of consumers have been identified, the first is market - oriented and the second one is non-market oriented, self-sufficient (production for own consumption).
