Investigation was concerned with inheritance of harvest time, size and shape of fruit, fruit ground colour, overcolour and taste in columnar hybrid progenies Golden Delicious x Wijcik and Granny Smith x Wijcik. Ripening season and fruit size in the progenies Golden Delicious x Wijcik showed a polygenic pattern of inheritance with a few examples of gene transgression. Fruit shape was very variable from flat to oblong. Yellow and green ground colour could be controlled independently. Anthocianin production in the fruit skin was present in 46.5 of hybrids. The inheritance of sweetness didn't show a quantitative pattern with normal distribution. Percent of seedlings with the taste similar to parents was only 16.7. Ripening season and fruit size in the progeny Granny Smith x Wijcik showed a normal distribution curve about the mean. Parental contribution to shape was greater by Wijcik. All hybrids had green ground colour with unattractive red over colour in 66.7. Taste was acid but in 33.3 of seedlings unpleasant.
