Production of natural grasslands of different height zones on Stara Planina [Serbia, Yugoslavia]

It was investigated the natural grassland production in three height zones of Stara Planina mountain (Serbia, Yugoslavia), a characteristic area for mountain animal breeding. The zone of mountain grassland for cutting (900 m above sea level) that belongs to Festuca pesudovinea - Agrostietum vulgaris community, area of mountainous grasslands with combined utilization (1200 m above sea level) that belongs to Agrostietum vulgaris community, subalpean grassland zone (1400 m above sea level) that belongs to Nardetum strictae community. The yield and quality of produced biomass by the analysis of floristic structure of biomass by phases of utilization, chemical analysis of dry matter and yield of dry matter.
