[The situation and breed characteristics of goats in Yugoslavia]

In this paper, goat number in the World and in Yugoslavia, and the morphological characteristics, production characteristics and origin of goat breeds raising at the area of Yugoslavia are described. The autochthonous Balkan goat is detailed described. The evaluation of the endargement of autochthonous Balkan goat and suggestions for its protection are given, too.
