Galega (Galega orientalis Lam.) new perennial, and protein fodder crop and its importance in the development of agriculture and tourism in Yugoslavia

On the basis of conveyring research in the period of 1991/94, region of Backa (Yugoslavia), on the soil: dark, fertile soil, conditions: dry plowing - it is possible to conclude the following: Galega (line RBMA-S-1) is a new fodder crop having gained such importance that its research should be continued, as well as its breeding and spreading in this country, through micro- and macro experiments, both in the conditions of dry plowing and irrigation. The best yield of green mass galega achieved in its third and fourth years, as well as high content of crude proteins. The height of plant is directly dependent on the age and harvest period (swaths). Leaf : stem ratio is also dependent on the age and harvest period (swaths). The content of crude proteins in dry matter is dependent on the phase of growth. The average content of crude proteins at the beginning of blooming was from 25 to 27.
