The influence of different amounts of total and undegradable proteins in cows diets on milk production and reproduction

In the 1st trial with 3 groups of 24 Black and White cows, the influence of different levels of total proteins (16, 18 and 20 of DM), and in the 2nd trial with 3 groups of 12 cows, the influence of different amount of undegradable protein (29, 37 and 45) within 18 of total protein on milk quantity and composition, as well as on reproductive parameters was investigated. In the 1st trial, the cows fed diets with 18 of total proteins achieved best production results. In the 2nd trial, best production results were obtained by diets with 37 undegradable proteins. The content of milk fat, protein and lactose was statistically insignificant between the investigated treatments. The amount of total protein in diets did not influence the reproductive parameters. Diets with 37 undegradable proteins had the best reproductive parameters. The results suggest great importance of proper standardizing in both total and undegradable proteins at the level of reticulorumen in high yielding dairy cows diets in early stage of lactation, taking into amount that protein feeds are most often also the most expensive part of diet what gives better milk production results.
