Three gall midge species are established on common reed (Phragmites communis Trin) in Serbia (Yugoslavia): Giraudiella inclusa (Frauenfeld, 1862), Lasioptera arundinis (Schinner, 1854) and Lasioptera hungarica (Moehn, 1968). The last two are new for the fauna of Serbia. Lasioptera arundinis and Lasioptera hungarica develop one generation annually, while Giraudiella inclusa has two generations. All species overwinter as full-grown larvae inside the reed stem or shoots.
