In sixteen samples of premixes for complete fodder mixtures, we analysed As, Cd, Pb and Hg. Samples of premixes were made by five different producers and used in Kraljevo region (Serbia, Yugoslavia) for preparing complete fodder mixtures. We analysed two universal premixes, three for pigs, five for poultry and six for bull-calves. Samples were prepared by digestion of wet method (mixture of nitric-perchloric acid). Cadmium and lead were determined using AAS, As using hidride technique AAS, and Hg using cold mercury vapour method AAS (Perkin - Elmer 3300). For determination of Cd and Pb we applied background correction. Content of As was in range from 0.250 to 7.058 microg/kg, Cd from 0.296 to 4.457 mg/kg, Pb from 0.000 to 20.623 mg/kg, but presence of Hg wasn't established in any sample
