[Estimation of some "Samsun" tobacco lines on the baseof their combining abilities]

The development of new hybrids in commercial growing is in the depedence of the parential lines. 8 various lines are estimated after a previous test for GCA, which are; R2, B199, SC, Bf, IO, R, SM and B10. Characteristics as yield, quality, number of leaves per plant, leaf shape, plant height and flowering are measured and observed to a random block during three years. The major part of variability to all lines for yield, quality, number of leaves per plant, plant height and flowering is for the reason of additive effects of GCA. Native lines R2 and R ought to improve for plant height and flowering. For the most of the estimated characteristics in all crosses are with interest lines B10 and R.
