Ten myxosporidian species of the genera Myxidium and Myxobolus were recorded from freshwater fishes of Chad (Central Africa). Myxidium distichodi n. sp. infected the gall bladder of Distichodus engycephalus. Myxidium latesi n. sp. was found in the gall bladder of Lates niloticus. Myxobolus clarii Mandour, Galal & Abed, 1993 was a parasite of the liver, the heart and the intestine of Citharinus citharus. Myxobolus chariensis n. sp. was observed on the gill of Brycinus macrolepidotus. Myxobolus citharinopsi n. sp. infected the gill of Citharinops distichodoides. Myxobolus mailaoensis n.sp. was discovered in the kidney of Synodontis gambiae. Myxobolus maraensis parasitized the gill of Citharinus citharus. Myxobolus ndjamenaensis n. sp. lived in the kidney of Citharinus citharus. Myxobolus nokouensis Sakiti, Blanc, Marques & Bouix, 1991 was detected on the gill of Labeo coubie and Labeo parvus. Myxobolus sarigi Landberg, 1985 parasitized the intestine of Lates niloticus.
