Modelling of packed bed adsorption column with recycle

In this study, we presented a model describing successfully the continuous adsorption of patulin on activated carbon packed column with recycle. The model is simple and it provides an effective tool for determining reservoir concentration in fixed bed adsorption systems. The recycled adsorption system described here enables to remove more than 99 per cent of patulin initially present in the feed solution. All experiments were carried out at room temperature for 4 different flow rates (5, 20, 50, 100 ml per min). And the results showed that the rate of adsorption increases while the flow rate increased.
