A field experiment with corn on leached smolnitza (Bojorishte) has been carried out from 1993 to 1996 yr. There were treatments with manure and with both - fertilizers and manure. The estimated quantities of mineral N after manure show that the optimal levels of available N have in the soil and rate of the mineral fertilization. The addition of mineral N every year on the base of the used manure keeps the level of the available N in the soil steady. Its content after the growing season is relatively higher in treatments where the rates of N, P fertilization are also higher. These results have been observed both in mineral and combined (mineral and manure) fertilization.
