Study on fat content related traits in lamb carcass

The objective of the study is to examine the traits related to carcass fat content in lambs of North Bulgarian fine-fleece breed. High correlations are obtained between the carcass weight, fat content and subcutaneous fat over 12th rib (0.83+++ and 0.74+++). Positive correlations are estimated also between the subcutaneous fat, but girth, kidney knob fat content (0.57+++, 0.63+++). Amoung all anatomic organs hip gridle determines the amount of variation of carcass fat content (R2= 0.65).
