The experiment was carried out with female lambs of Danube Finewool sheep breed, paternal half sibs, split in two groups by methods of analogues.Control group received meadow hay and concentrate mixture and that of the experimental one - meadow hay, concentrate mixture with 87% of the latter replaced with equal parts wheat and barley grain absorbed urea from a water solution. From the obtain results it was concluded that replacement of 24% of protein with nonprotein nitrogen decreased insignificantly average daily gain from 125g vs. 140g for the control group.Short term (100 days) feeding of NPN did not led to an observed worsening of health status and disturbances in reproductive functions, as well as to worsening mechanical parameters of the fine wool.
