1998
Veleva, A. (Rajonna Veterinarna Stantsiya, Silistra (Bulgaria))
For a five years period at Srebarna a total of 2310 earthworms were examined out of which 1813 are carriers of Syngamus larves. The results of this study indicate that the earthworms play the principal role as carriers and spreaders of syngamosis in pheasants. The worms determine both the stationary nature and severe course of the disease.
