Possibilities for application of lavendotricine for post-harvest handling of some cut flowerrs' species

The aim of present study was to explore the effect of lavendotricine on post-harvest behaviour of cut astroemeria, spray-carnation, calendula and rose flowers and to compare the influence of lavendotricine to that of silver nitrate. Based on the experiments provided it could be assumed that keeping the cut astroemeria, cv. Regina, spray-carnation, cv. Autumn Blue and calendula, cv. Izgrev flowers in a solution consisting of lavendotricine + sucrose was effective for retardation of senescence while the application of lavendotricine was not suitable for cut rose flowers, cv. Sonia. Similar effect of solutions lavendotricine + sucrose and silver nitrate + sucrose was established for cut astroemeria, spray-carnation and calendula. The use of lavendotricine instead of silver nitrate as a component of holding solutions for the studied cut flower species was recommended.
