This experiment was conducted at Gurgur Experimental Farm, North Sumatra, to find out the effect of form and dosage of potassium fertilizer to the growth and yield of banana cultivar Ambonkuning in acid soil. The treatments were laid in a Split Plot Design with three replications. Two potassium fertilizer forms (granular and liguid) were assigned as main plots, and four potassium dosages (0, 200, 400, and 600 g K20/plant/year) as subplots. The result showed that there was no interaction between dosage and form of potassium fertilizer. Potassium fertilizer form did not significantly affect the growth and yield of banana. Application of potassium fertilizer at 200 g K20/plant/year increased the yield of banana (fruit weight/bunch) and increased leaf potassium content above critical level. Increasing dosage up to 400 and 600 g K20/plant/year showed no significant effect on increment of banana yield. Implication of this result is that in increasing banana production K fertilizer is not necessarily to be applied in liquid form, but it could be applied in granular form at the dosage of 200 g K20/plant/year
