Plant protection as well as weed control are effective measures for increasing agricultural production. However, the main objective of this research was to identify some factors affecting the control of various pests, with emphasis on weed control. Results showed that the sources of information in recognizing the pests are diversified. Private sector extension agents and agricultural extension agents are the most effective sources. The results explained that farmers are more knowledgeable in controlling insects and diseases than weeds.
