[Growing of white clower-grass mixtures for seed and forage]

In 1992-1996 on sandy loam soil experiments on growing white clower 'Atoliai' for seeds mixed with meadow grass, red fescue, and tall fescue were conducted. On the basis of experimental findings it was ascertained that grasses had no influence on white clover seed yield. In unfavourable conditions (wet growing season) clower seed yield was higher in mixtures. Dry matter yield of white clover and mixtures with grasses in II-IV years of use fluctuated from 0.64-1.12 t/ha (in a very dry year) up to 3.53-4.07 t/ha (in a wet year).
