1999
Dobilas, J.A. (Lithuanian Inst. of Veterinary Studies, Kaisiadorys (Lithuania))
The survey performed at 92 pig farms in Lithuania had shown Salmonella were isolated in 26 farms, E. coli bacteria - 24. Main agents of pig salmonellosis are Salmonella choleraesuis var. Kunzendorf. In most cases pigs are infected with E. coli bacteria having polyvalent antigenes K88, K99, 987P, F41 or A20. Pasteurella strains in most cases isolated from pig organism belong to the genus Pasteurella multocida. The identified cultures of infectious diseases are regulary replicated and stored in the Department of bacteriology and parasitology of LVI as collection of microorganisms. For development of killed vaccines with adjuvant 'Emulsigen' was chosen 3 strains of Salmonella cholerasuis, Salmonella cholerasuis var. Kunzendorf and Salmonella enteritidis. Using the available E.coli from the collection and E. coli isolated from the pig organism in farms which had stable antigenic and immunogenic properties was produced an inactivated vaccine.
