Screening sesame for resistance to mycoplasma phyllody disease

Thirty five sesame accessions were screened for their resistance to Phyllody caused by Mycoplasma-like organism (MLO) transmitted by the leafhopper vector (order Homoptera) Orosius albicinctus Dist., under natural field conditions at the National Agricultural Research Centre, Islamabad. Only 6 accessions, K-5, K-206, Pechequet-50, Reg-Canasto, P-35-40, and V-49/205 were found resistant (0.66 to 1.98% plants affected), 11 intermediate, 5 susceptible and 4 highly susceptible.
