Efficacy of dimlor 662 EC (a mixture of dimethoate and chlorpyrifos) against corn leaf aphid, Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch) was tested by three different procedures. In the first procedure seedlings of maize were sown in plastic pots covered with glass chimneys, in the second seedlings were placed in test tubes and in third method maize leaves were placed on petri dishes. Maize leaves and seedling were painted with different serial dilution of Dimlor ranging from 0.0003% to 0.01%. Aphids were collected from maize field. Aphids were released in all cases and each concentration had a three replicate will control. Dimlor was found to be effective when tested under different test procedure against corn leaf aphid. The LC90 were calculated to be 0.0024%, 0.0041% and 0.005% by method 1, 2 and 3 respectively. All the three test procedure were found statistically non significant. A linear regression model was developed between concentration and percentage mortality.
