Path analysis for thirteen yield and quality influencing characters was worked out in 13 linseed accessions during 1995-96. Seed yield per plot showed a positive and significant genotypes correlation with number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, 100-seed weight and oil content. The genotypic associations of number of seeds per capsule and 100-seed weight with seed yield per plot were positive and significant but they had direct negative path towards seed yield per plot. Days taken to flowering and plant height, had negative genotypic correlation with seed yield per plot but they had a positive direct effect towards seed yield per plot. Protein content and oleic acid had negative association and direct negative path towards seed yield per plot. For reliable selection index, number of capsules per plant and oil content were the characters of prime importance.
