Origin and need of the green revolution in Pakistan

This article investigates the history, importance and need of the Green Revolution in Pakistan. Pakistan's population is increasing rapidly and cultivable land is limited. Consequently upon there is acute shortage of food to meet the requirements of growing population. An attempt has been made to show that through Green Revolution technology agricultural productivity can be increased substantially. The rate of adoption of this new package is lacking behind as compared to neighbouring countries (except Afghanistan) both in time and magnitude.
