The effect of climate conditions on chickpea vegetation period was investigated. Total rainfall had a big influence on degree-days in the stages of plant growth and on yield. The number of degree-days needed for plants for setting pods and for creating seeds of good quality is about 1730. Such level of heat units should be supplied till September
