Empirical model describing relations between weather and yields

The aim of this paper is to present a weather-winter wheat model which can be used, among others, for yield forecasting. The empirical data, concerning mean yields of winter wheat, were collected in 25 voivodeship between 1970 and 1990. The meteorological data came from 25 stations. Using an iterative method of multiple regression (based on Ezekiel) the dependence of yields on weather parameters (aggregated monthly or in 10-day periods) was determined. Two-factor diagrams of functions are presented. The constructed model has been tested using independent data from other sources
