The effects of different levels of cadmium on the growth of two lettuce cultivars, Vanity and Salinas, were studied in the present work. Plants were grown in nutrient solutions supplemented with Cd. Total root and shoot fresh and dry weights and root length were measured. The results showed that the Salinas cultivar is more sensitive to Cd than the Vanity cultivar
