Based on an article of A. Gaham Tipple about urban housing in Sub-Saharan Africa, recently published on Africa Affairs, we tried to analyse the different items studied by the author and to confront with the situation of Cabo Verde, concerning housing. We found out that in Cabo Verde the social-economic environment is very similar to the group of the Sub-Saharan countries and, therefore, there is a strong tendency to achieve the same type of problems in the housing sector
