The risk of unfavourable price changes is one of the problems in agricultural free market production in Poland. The results of investigation indicate that present situation of Polish agriculture market gives only possibility of introducing physical commodity options as a form of price hedging in futures contract. The first experiment of introducing the physical commodity options contract on the market was made in the Poznan Commodity Exchange. 100 options were sold which give right to purchase 10 tons of frozen half carcasses each. This form of price hedging was met with great interest from the agriculture market participants
