[Evaluation of chlorophyll content in sugar beet leaves]

The changes of chlorophyll content in the sugar beet leaves was measured during the vegetative period using the Minolta chlorophyllmeter. Value of chlorophyll units were changed in connection to ageing of the leaves. It is most appropriate to measure leaves fully developed, dark coloured and lustrous. Varieties of sugar beet measured in two years experiment could be diveded to four groups. Low chlorophyll content have Marion, Petra, Madeira and Melina varieties. High chlorophyll content have varieties Triumph, Fox, Orion and Domino
