The ovarian weight, number and size of follicles in February- and September-lambing sheep were observed. Thirty Merino sheep, divided into two groups (n=15), were used in the experiment. Ewes were killed on days 1,7, 25 and 34 post partum (p.p.). Ovarian weight on the side of previously pregnant uterine horn (G+) was insignificantly higher (1.350+- 0.217) (P0.05) on day 25 p.p. in the September-lambing ewes in comparison with those lambing in February. By comparison of the number and siye of follicles at G+, the categories of small (2mm), middle (3-5 mm) and large (6-8 mm) and corpora lutea were discovered in September-lambing sheep. In February-lambing, the follicles of small and middle categories were found on the ovary G- in February-lambing sheep from days 17 to 34 p.p. The difference in the number and size of follicles in sheep lambing in various seasons is discussed
