The influence of drainage channels function on soil water regimes

The task of model simulations was to state a potential use of channels (especially drainage channels) for increasing amount of soil water in their surrounding area in Zahorska Lowland. As a model crop there were used late potatoes which are very sensible to moisture in their root zone. The model simulation has been executed with the help of the model SWACROP (version 1989), which was developed in the Netherlands and tested especially on potatoes. From the results of model simulations come out the optimal ground water level HPV sub(o)=0.50 m and so called optimized ground water level HPV sub(oz)=0.45-1.0 m. The effective influence on moisture regime optimization of soils in surrounding area in distance range 80-500 m depends on initial ground water level HPV sub(p)=3.5-1m
