Iron, manganese, copper and zinc treatment in municipal waste water by alternate flooding and drying of soil with plants
1996
Jongrak Boonanake
Study on Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn treatment in Petchaburi municipal waste water were split plot design experiment, 3 replication. There had alternate flooding and drying interval as main plot (3F+3D, 5F+3D and 7F+3D) and having Cyperus corymbosus. Typha angustifolia, and without plant as sub plot. Result showed that Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn content in waste water before treatments had 0.120-0.710, 0.113-3.483, T-0.046, and T-0.019 mg/l respectively and after waste water treatments found that Fe and Mn had more increasing in every treatment, because of reduction reaction in soil when alternate flooding, It might be contaminate in drainage water from soil. Cu and Zn were fluctuate value all of this experiment (90 days), because it might be Cu and Zn content in municipal waste water before treatment were very low. However, its can summerize that comparision in this experiment between Cyperus spp., Typha spp. and without plants would be Typha spp., which the best plant for municipal waste water treatment by alternate flooding 3 days and drying 3 days.
