Study on the effect of GA3 and various concentrations of calcium salts to improve fruit set and fruit retention of 10 year old Longkong (Aglaia dookkoo Griff.) was carried out at the farmer's orchard in Khok-Pho District, Pattani Province during May-August, 1995. After thinning the spikes until fruit set period, fruitlets in each bunch were sprayed once per week for 4 weeks with GA3 and calcium salts. The result showed that a number of fruits dropped gradually during 2nd-9th weeks and maximized at 2nd-3rd weeks after fruit set. GA3 25 ppm increased fruit set by 87.53 percent and 85.69 percent at 7th and 9th week after fruit set, respectively. The fruit retention was 31.45 fruits per bunch at harvest period. Various sources of calcium salts; Ca(NO3)2+B2O3, Ca-EDTA and CaCl2, increased the percentage of fruit set at 7th and 9th week after fruit set and the fruit retention at harvesting period was slightly increased but was not significant.
