This research was carried out to determine the suitability of wool characteristics of the Tuj, raised at the Experimental Station of Ataturk University, to the standart of ideal carpet wool. In the study, as material, the wool samples from a total number of 59 ewes belonged to three different age groups, were used. The wool samples were taken from the shoulder, rib and thigh regions of the sheep at the shearing of July, 1994
