Studies on adhesins (K99, K88, F41, 987 P and type 1 fimbria) and enterotoxins of E.coli strains isolated from hens and quil with septicemiae

In this study, 66 E. coli strains isolated from hens with septicemia. It was determined that 30 % of E. coli strains was enterotoxigenic by rapit ileal loop assay and 18 % was enteropatogenic by infant mouse assay.The serotypes of 10 strains were 01 serotype, 16 strains were 02 serotype, 5 strains were 078 serotype, 3 strains were 01/02 and 4 strains were 02/078 serotypes 28 strains was not serotyping. It were serotyped that 20 E. coli strain had type 1 A pilus, but tip 1 like pili were found 20 strains. In term of pilus typing 30 strains had K99+, 18 strains had F41+, 1 strain had K88+ and 1 strain had 987 P+ antigens
