Present status of the natural resources, ecosystem and environmental quality are in the critical state in particular the land resources, water resources, forest resources, mineral resources and air quality. The deterioration of the natural resources, ecosystem and environmental quality will be enhanced with improper environmental management and inefficient controls. Major factors contributing to the deterioration of these resources and environmental quality are of global and national issues. The major global issues are the rapid technology development, trade competition and global climatic change. The national issues are the policies on the socio-economic development and the rapid population growth which resulted in the negative effects on the natural resources and environmental quality. These negative effects are clearly evidenced by human activities such as coastal land-use in term of industry, aquaculture, tourism and natural conservation.
