Problems of physiological and biochemical substantiation of forming the meat productivity of small bulls of Ukraine's main dairy- and combined breeds in ontogenesis are elucidated. The small bulls were intensively raised up to 550-650 kg body weight in the 18-24 months age using different feeding systems. Results of the studies revealed that the following changes have taken place: on the one hand, indices conversion of energy available for metabolism and those of conversion of feeds' dry matter into energy and dry matter of carcasses' flesh with the age increased from 3-6 to 15-21 months improved and, on the other hand, indices of conversion of feed protein into protein of meat production decreased
