How to improve the quality of roughage in cattle feeding

In the improvement of roughage the biggest problems that occur are due to low quality biocenosis, lack of appropriate agro-technical measures and, often, improper conservation methods. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to work on the improvement of natural pastures and meadows. Also, it is essential to use ensiling techniques more often. The principal material for ensiling should be whole maize plant, lucerne, grasses, and grass-legume mixtures. Animal producers should be guided to increase their forage producing land areas.
