The tolerance to drought and yield of beans in dependance on the way of cultivation and cultivar was investigated on the soil type of smonitza, on the trial field of the Agricultural and Technological Research Center in Zajecar, Serbia (Yugoslavia), in the period 1994-1996. The trial was set by the method of long soil lots in five replications. Four ways of cultivation were investigated, out of which three ways of consociated bean and maize cultivation and the fourth way of pure bean crop, and three bean cultivars.
